Just dropping in for a second. I'll be back to more substantive posts at some point in the near future, probably this coming week.
As y'all surmised, I needed a vacation, so I asked nicely, and received one. Next time, I'm asking for a millions dollars! To quote my hero, Saint Dion Waiters, you miss all shots you don't take.
Unfortunately, the last few weeks have been ... less fun than usual, as it started with having to unexpectedly learn about hospice, and it just ended the way that hospice ... ends.
Anyway, while I try to apply the principles of Saint Dion Waiters when it comes to my posts and essays (I'd rather post thirty bad essays than nine bad essays, because if I only posted nine bad ones, that would mean I lost confidence) I am still working on my equanimity and equilibrium.
PS- The answer to your last image, @trappedslider ... it's real simple. Adam's girlfriend had told him, "Every thing tastes better fried, Adam. Every. thing."
And this is why people need to be more precise in their language. As Adam learned first to his horror, and then to his regret.

My condolences.
There were several this past holiday season that hit too close to home for me. For those who visit other boards, you might remember Lisa Nadazdy, who frequently posted comments meant to provoke conversation and amuse the readers; their avatar was Stephanie from Lazytown, and they would have fit right in in this thread. They passed away December 26th after a year-long vicious battle with cancer. Their spouse requests, if you feel like it, that you make a donation to the Cancer Society, the Heart Society, to your local food bank, or to any organization that works with abused children.
