Hips, is what eventually got him as he put his back out. They never seem to worry about what's good for them, he still acted like a puppy till the end. :D
It sounds like he was a happy guy. How lucky you two were to find each other.

Oh yeah he tore his ACL about 2 years ago. That was touch and go. Since, hes been a bit more measured in activity but he still forgets his old bones now and then.

I miss my dog.
There have been several neurological studies over the last couple of decades showing that our brains respond to the loss of a beloved pet the same way they do to the loss of a beloved person. Our brains don’t distinguish - the bonds are as real and significant.

So grieve and don’t second-guess it. Healing will take time and mourning will flare up at the weirdest moments and this is all okay, it’s how we do things.

Proctoring mid terms right now. One of my students is using my laptop because he’s got so much crap on his that the safe exam browser won’t let him do the test.

When I was young we took our written exams with pencil and paper, with lead and RSI, and we LIKED it!
