Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

Yesterday, a copy of the Dungeons & Dragons - the Making of Original D&D: 1970-1977 was delivered to my island lair. I expect that I will be able to read it in the coming weeks.

This is fuel to the verbiage fire.

Is that a promise or a threat?

I dont know if its the rules, the various heat waves, the 'can we please get vacation started' but there certainly is a spike in snark.

....Maybe the heat is scrambling their brains, and they are just misspelling what they want. A spike ... in snarf.

That's right. It's time for the Summer of Snarf.

Hot Snarf Summer, y'all!

Funniest thing is I just had mandatory Lean Awareness training, the week before.
My response when we were told that: "... is that a comment about my weight?!? I'm informing HR!" Upshot: I didn't need to do any "Lean Awareness" training, and the manager had to attend Sensitivity Training.

If you've never read anything about "Lean", it's just "The Toyota Method" of efficiency. I had that training more than 25 years ago, at a different employer. The problem is that no one else seems to have had it, at my current employer.

Example:

I check a 10 year old laser printer, that's having issues. I determine that it needs a fuser unit, various rollers replaced, and the cartridge is running on fumes. I price out the parts and they come out to roughly $20.00 MORE than a new printer, with cartridge. I tell the client this and recommend they instead buy a new printer, with a year of warranty on it.

Response:

Repair comes out of a different budget than new purchases and I don't need to justify the repair.
