Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

Nice. deep cut

Fun fact- the American version is the one without the last chapter.

It's a completely different book.

Bonus fun fact- the movie is based off of the American version without the last chapter.
I'm still salty about the American version of Brazil, which cuts out the last five minutes of the movie. Those five minutes completely change the movie.

I hear China added a text sequence at the end of Fight Club about Tyler Durden going to jail for the rest of his life for his crimes...

What is amusing about that one is the timeline doesn't add up either (the film came out in the late 90s but they added an ending that references him being released from the asylum in 2012). I like my state propaganda to at least be internally consistent

So, assuming the movie is set roughly when it was released, he was in the hospital for 12+ years. What's inconsistent about that?

It is inconsistent because it is supposed to be the actual ending of a film released in 1999. The viewer is meant to believe that this end card was put there by the original director when the movie came out

"Movie point of view jumps ahead at the end," is a trope as old as movies, I think.
