Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

So one thing about running monthly games is that the time between sessions leads to a lot of procrastination. Like tonight. Finally have some time to do some campaign prep, but it looks like I'm on track spending the entire time making lame jokes on EN World, reading people complaining on the Rat Catcher's Discord server about Cubicle 7 missing their "deadline" for a promised updates, and checking Reddit and various Discords for Foundry and Foundry-mod updates.

The Internet has been both the best and worst thing for me when it comes to enjoying the hobby.

So, anyway, as I was saying---oh wait! New Ember development article on the Foundry Discord, see ya later!

As someone with ADHD, I bet a study of neurodiversity in gaming (video, board, war, roleplaying, card, etc) would be absolutely fascinating.
As someone who was diagnosed with ADHD in middle school in the 80s I have complicated feelings about the current politics surrounding it, still informed by negative feelings going through the system in the early put-all-boys on Ritalin days of the early 80s. Personally, I don't take any medication (I know for some people, medication can be life changing and needed, no judgement), and get by fine with my various external computer brains keeping me on task for things that matter. So it really does come out mostly with hobbies. When left to my own devices, my TTRPG hobby activity being the best example, I tend to faff about for hours and hours with discussion boards, fiddling with my VTT (huh, I wonder if I can can make a macro that will...hours later, YAY, I figured it out, but did nothing to get ready for my actual game), browsing books and articles, until I start running up against a deadline and then I can be hyper focused for many many hours doing what I could have spread out over weeks.

I suppose this is why I do well in Project Management in intense projects with short deadlines. I'm more of a field marshal than a general. Let me jump from mission to mission rather than following routine processes day after day. My wife is the opposite, and gets anxious just hearing me talk about my job. In family life we balance each other out pretty well.
