Yeap. I think the best authors are subtle about it too. You dont even realize the particulars are coming out of current events and this allows a great thought exercise on many a topic. Lately, this has all been too on the nose with direct lifts with no confusion as to what the writing eludes, which just exasperates conflict and polarization. That has the opposite effect of making people think things through.Eh, I disgree.
Good science fiction is usually the exploration of current topics examined by extrapolating those ideas into the future.
Given the issues we are seeing with an aging population in so many different areas, I think that, if anything, a thoughtful remake of Logan's Run would be an even more interesting project today to the extent it imagines cross-generational strife in more ... concrete terms.

The proposed movie moved the age for Carousel from 30 down to 21, which was what it was in the original novel.Hm. Almost time for the remake to join Carousel.
Five more and they'll send in the Sandmen.Aside: The remake of "Logan's Run" has been in Development Hell for 25 years now.
Or, heaven forbid, make something new with similar themes. I always find it weird that people think remaking an old film is a better idea than making something new. Logan’s Run isn’t exactly a huge name with a lot of inherent draw for people.Eh, I disgree.
