Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

Several times over the years I've had various friends non-facetiously greet me by saying, "Hello, Darkness, my old friend...", and yet none of them were aware that the others had done so...

I wonder what that says about me, lol. :p

That you are a ray of sunshine, and all about seems dark by comparison.

I watched both back in the day. I remember liking Logan's Run, but even 10 year old me couldn't stand BSG 1980. And I had low standards back then.

Probably fair to say I still have low standards as I shall be watching season 5 of Wynonna Earp when it becomes available.
Bad taste is the best. You get to just like things without having to complain all the time. It’s great.

Absolutely! Sometimes you just have to dive right in and enjoy the terrible thing for the terribleness.

If instead of terribleness we call it kitsch we can claim a certain amount knowing irony.

There's a term for that - a "mondegreen".

Back in 1954, in Harper's magazine, Sylvia Wright described mishearing the last line of the first stanza from the ballad "The Bonnie Earl o' Moray", by Thomas Percy. She had heard:

Ye Highlands and ye Lowlands,
Oh, where hae ye been?
They hae slain the Earl Amurray,
And Lady Mondegreen.

While the real lines are, "They hae slain the Earl o' Moray / and laid him on the green."

There are some famous ones, like "Bad Moon Rising", by Creedence Clearwater revival, that contains the line, "There's a bad moon on the rise," which many people hear as, "There's a bathroom on the right." Eventually CCR started to occasionally perform it live with the alternate line on purpose.
Likewise, Jimi Hendrix occasionally changed “‘Scuse me while I kiss the sky” to the mondegreen “‘Scuse me while I kiss this guy” after he heard some people heard it that way.

(what a scamp!)

you mean the movie or extra long episode/ special:
If you’re interested in sci-fi you might dig Stirling’s Dies the Fire. There’s a flash and all advanced tech on the planet stops working. The story follows different groups of people in the aftermath. Takes place in Oregon and Idaho.
and then over a couple of generations
