Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

What a weird argument.
I feel the same way about your response.
It's either, or. Subjective or objective. Not both.
Is that your opinion, or is it an absolute truth? Pick one. :p
Beauty is either an objective quality of an external object or it's a subjective aesthetic judgement about an external object. Pick one.
See above for how you can subjectively define what beauty is, and have that definition be objectively fulfilled.

I think it's important to separate out beauty and preferences and competence and execution.

They're very different kinds of (natural) beauty, but different people will reasonably find the different landscapes to be differently attractive to them; and it's very possible that they aren't all equally good as photographs, in the sense that I might not have executed them all equally well. I think it is possible in many instances to at least judge competence of execution--if you know what someone was trying to do.
Absolutely. That's part of the point. What's out there just is. Separate from us. Independent and objective. Then we come along and judge the hell out of it.

I am both professionally and intellectually insulted when people on Twitter, etc., claim that hurricanes can be 'engineered.' If you are one of the people who honestly believe that (or any) conspiracy theory, you have my profound sympathy.
I know the US Government's military prowess is impressive..

But it's not so impressive that I think they have a HURRICANE GUN

That would be kind of sick.

Thank you for proving my point about people just endlessly arguing. Tschüss.

Sort of. The desert and the river and the mountains are (probably ;) ) objectively real, whatever one thinks about them; but I think there are things that at least hit in the range of "beauty" for the vast majority of people--while some of the later US National Parks are less explicitly scenic, many of especially the older ones were chosen on the basis of just that. I think it's possible that, say, the best photograph of those three isn't the one of the type of landscape that most makes a given viewer's heart sing.

It is not only real but lizard men dressed as humans are at the controls.

But let’s not be stupid. Its not made up D&D lizard men: they are more like Diana without a mask in ‘V.’

How do I know? Someone very credible on the internet said so.

Oh gods. Electrical impulses in the brain versus what's "really" outside of our heads. Yeah, that's a whole nasty-ass can of worms no one needs to deal with.

Sure. There can be general consensus, but a lot of people agreeing on something doesn't make it so. That's a logical fallacy. It's still a personal, subjective judgement about what's beautiful and what's not.

Sure. For me it's the middle one. Because it's more dynamic and interesting to look at because of the angle and composition. Photoshop out the highway and maybe touch up the foreground. I'd argue it's also the most beautiful because of that compared to the other two, but it's all subjective. As evidenced by the posts on the topic (and just about every other on the internet), we could easily find people who'd argue either of the other two are more beautiful for various reasons.

No arguments, here, promise.

That's not a highway, it's a railroad, and it's part of the history of New River. I personally wouldn't cover it up, but that's me.

Also, I'm a fan of starker landscapes, so for me it's Big Bend (of those three).

Also also--in my own defense--I just kinda went in my photos folders and grabbed stuff. I know I have better-executed pics of Big Bend, and I'm sure I do of the other two, as well. I wanted to focus more on the landscapes being different.
