There are times when I'm reading a thread and I get the distinct impression that a very few posters in it are reading a VERY different thread because they're drawing conclusions that are dubious as hell from the other posts. I mean, I get the Rashomon Effect and how people apply different perspectives (or agendas), but sometimes...
Most of the time I see that it feels like I've seen the same things from them before. :-/

Huh. I think I agree with just about every word of that thing you're hating on. I guess it's true: Different people do have different preferences.
