For instance, in my mind, Homes isn’t even necessarily a detective or even marginally interested in personally solving the murders. He’s just in the vicinity when “Ooops! I solved the crime!”

Hell, maybe he’s a True Crime fanboy, constantly underfoot podcasting about Sunne, and accidentally stealing his thunder. Repeatedly.
