Sometimes, when faced with a broken thread, I can't help but wonder. What could I've done to offend a random poster I don't even remember interacting with? Am I really that annoying? Should I tone down the prima donna antics?

Like @Whizbang Dustyboots my ignore list is well developed, and I've never seen need to put you on it.

I'll echo the last two posts in that I've never noticed MoonSong as an annoying poster but is it not normal to ignore posters you've never personally interacted with? I've not interacted with most of the people I've ignored, just frequently found myself going "oh naughty word off" when I see their posts.

I will certainly nuke people without interacting with them if they are particularly egregious. A large portion of the ones I've done that to have eventually been removed from the site by the mods.

I have a couple folks apparently blocking me where I'm kind of curious what I got on their bad side for.

For the folks I've blocked for annoying me (instead of being egregious), I'll go back and check periodically if I still find their posting too annoying, and if not will unblock them. I've noticed a couple of times over the years where I must have been released from someone's temporary time-out.

That thing where, after a couple of years, you go back and take someone off ignore because in retrospect they seem reasonable as compared to a bunch of people whose posts you've been recently reading and decided to put on ignore.

I clear my ignore lists every once in a while, a lot of times people belong there though.

I fully admit I can be the king of petty when it comes to block lists but I can’t imagine what would cause you to be on someone’s list.

It seems to hold as long as Scribe's using "cannot be done" in the sense of "is impossible" as opposed to "must not", which is how I read him.

Clearly people physically CAN dump toxic chemicals in municipal drinking water, though I'd certainly prefer they refrain.
