Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

For some reason until recently Sweet was completely washed from my memory. No idea why. They had a bunch of hits and "Ballroom Blitz" was a staple.
I've effectively done that. Bands just completely don't come up somehow, and then don't come up in my mind. For some indeterminant time between 5-6 years ago and 6 months ago when I realized it, the band Heart effectively disappeared for me. Had discussions about 'bands of the 70s that saw renewals in the 80s' or 'female led bands' or 'bands comprised of family members' or other places where they would have come up, but for no particular reason they didn't.
Dude, I've met Stacy's mom - she's totally emo...
Emo kids certainly could have teenage children by now, couldn't they?

I think the timeline might work out so that Jessie's Girl could have been Stacy's grandma
It depends on if Rick Springfield is talking about a when he was actually growing up (say 1962-70), or speaking to the teenagers who were buying his records in 1981. Either way, Jessie's girl is presumably childless in 1981*. Stacy is a teenager in 2003. I think it works better than she be Stacy's mom (although apparently the real inspiration was a childhood friend talking about Adam Schlesinger's grandma).
*or else Rick is fanaticizing about breaking up a family, not just a couple, which if nothing else you think would have gotten a mention.
While I liked Jessie's girl, I felt that Jenny was more approachable. She gave me her number! I can still remember it!
You know the one I remember the most is Diane, who was with Jack. They were always a cute couple. Wonder what happened to them?
