Hey, HERO is my gaming Rosetta Stone.
Same here. My 1870s Mashup game that started in San Francisco with Emperor Norton? Hero System. My campaign combining vampires from the World of Darkness, Castlevania, Warhammer, and D&D? Hero System. My Hârn game thatgot invaded by extradimensional undead? Hero System. Even my Traveller game ended up in Hero System. It's a really flexible system!

I have avoided repurchasing a record player, because I know it'll lead me to the poor house. The algorithm loves to show me cool picture discs.
Well in my case as i posted a month or so ago, this all started due to impulse buying a record without own a record player first, but i do have a music list on amazon for other records, i may want in the future. Here's the pic of my record player on it's shelf.

Hero was one of my two main go-tos for decades. Admittedly I have some unusual history with it, but still.

If I was feeling really perverse, I'd say "Use EABA instead."

I had to google EABA. soz.

I've got a more or less working, but un-playtested, Legend of the 5 Rings done in HERO.

Really? I rather liked that game. Though never pushed the mechanics hard. Mostly loved the presentation as an entry game.
Yep, it's great at that. But the system was pretty rickety and the adventure writing is really bad for kids and new GMs. (You'll need to read a wall of text to know about how the railroad works this time.)

My littlest one is no longer into My Little Pony, so I don't know how the Renegade version of the game is, but a simple-but-sturdier system and better adventure layout and design would have been welcomed with Tails of Equestria.

The books we had were fun, but they needed a bit more polish to make it live up to what they were trying to accomplish.
