In an uncanny valley kind of way?I know im probably the last person to see Aline Romulus, but the Ian Holm CGI kinda freaked me out more than anything.
Pretty much. On one hand its a fitting character for Alien franchise, but the posthumous portrayals always bug me a bit.In an uncanny valley kind of way?
Source for this?Nope, no phone search, but they don't necessarily have to do that physically to see what's on your phone anyway. Isn't technology great? /s
As the technology advances it'll only get worse. One day we'll be able to watch brand new movies starring Vincent Price or [enter favorite dead actor name here]. I'm mixed on it. Who wouldn't want to see Sean Connery again? At the same time it seems cold and disrespectful.Pretty much. I may be overstating a bit but I'm largely extrapolating from known tech like "Stingray", that has been around for quite a while, and considering that we really have no idea what applications like customs clearance applications may place on our phones, without our knowledge.Source for this?
I had looked into this earlier. The number of phone searches is about 0.01 % of all travelers. There is an increase of about 20% since the previous year. But there is also a long term increasing trend and that amount of year to year increase is not very remarkable. So it is possible but I've not seen or heard evidence of a marked change.I'm not trying to get political. I'm curious if this is an actual thing. Did they search your phone for anti-Trump material? Did they ask? If they do do this I might need a burner phone to take internationally. You can even PM the response. I'm just curious about traveling to and from the US these days.
social media effect, one person says it happens, then it spreads and explodes, just like cryptid/ufo sightings. As some one who watches programs like "To Catch a smuggler"/ "Contraband sized at the border" and other shows like that, the only times I've seen them search people phones are AFTER the person gets flagged for something else. Shady travel history/finding drug paraphernalia etc.I had looked into this earlier. The number of phone searches is about 0.01 % of all travelers.
