My mentally ill godmother expressed that concern of me to my parents during The Satanic Panic. But because they knew me and knew her, they didn’t take it or her seriously.Literally I think she picked up some sort of religion out of D&D.

(I will note that Mom was more worried by my newish interest in heavy metal, which concern passed relatively quickly.)
The same accusation was levied at me personally by my HS art teacher after he became a born-again Christian and divested himself of his collection of cool cassette recordings that he’d play during class. (I missed out on the dump.) This is at the same school that was run by Cistercian monks, who eventually let me start a Roleplaying Game Club on school grounds during school hours. The club chaperone was my form master.
