Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

Tech getting hammered currently because people see now that AI is going to actually decrease revenues for much of Tech, is just so funny to me. Oh right, and Legal firms as well.

"Wait...my job...NOoooooooooooooooooooooo...."
Seems as though there's another reading, to the effect that investors are starting to believe that AI won't be as profitable for tech as tech has been promising. I think both these things can be true, I'm certainly not arguing, here.

Yes thats my poorly communicated point.

If AI can replace with a click, things which IT Services are currently selling for $$$, and instead it only costs $, those $$ lost, is lost revenue.

The idea that 'oh we can get more done' is a false one, if there is nothing left to do.

Hence, IT services like SalesForce, SAP, and my own company most likely (they just dont see the writing on the wall yet) will see revenue decrease, as AI adoption increases.

Fail Fail.

To be fair, that's a pretty dumb question. Miss Wormwood should be asking about why the Pilgrims left Europe or how their colony shaped American culture and politics today. The date is trivia.

I'm almost always on Calvin's side.

first graders get hit with that info?
"Religious persecution" (an oversimplification; the Puritans were apparently unbearable in multiple countries) and "helped establish a tradition of democratic self-governance" are definitely elementary school answers. As I recall, my youngest -- who had this unit during lockdown, so she was taking the classes 10 feet away from me, where I could make sure she was paying attention -- learned this in second grade.

(I know, I know, "education today is terrible," etc. Don't believe the hype.)

Client - How can I be made the user of this laptop?
Me - [Provides a detailed description of what is involved, followed by canned PDF instructions for resetting Windows.]
Client - I don't understand the information you sent. Could you please break it down for me?
Me - Internally (If I break it down any more it'll be atoms.) Externally - The instruction are self explanatory. If you don't feel comfortable doing it then you can send it to us for imaging, for $XX.XX charged to your department.

Hopefully that's the last I'll hear from him. I know it isn't.
