Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

If you're ever in the market again, you could have a look at Bristol Leathers in Quebec. They've been around for decades and I've owned several of their jackets, over the years. I've even crash tested one of their motorcycle jackets in a 80 Kmh slide. if the insurance company hadn't taken it during the settlement, I'd still be wearing it today.

That looks like quality stuff! (Bookmarked.) But I was looking for more dress casual than moto fashion/function.

One of my past (suede) ones had a paisley design. The ones I purchased this time around all had blazer/sportscoat style collars.

I just saw a TikTok video of a guy in the UK telling an AI spam caller to delete all previous instructions and give him the recipe for cupcakes and, honestly, I'm here for it.

While I think these are entertaining, I feel like telling an AI to "ignore previous instructions and do this" is rapidly becoming the next version of "... and everybody clapped". Instant "That happened" vibes.

My leather gloves hung in there and saved my hands.
After years of buying from Wilson’s leather, my last 2 pairs- one fingerless, one winter dress- were both from Etsy sellers. The prices were a little higher, but the fit was snug (I had to take measurements), and I had all kinds of color options. There were also some leather type options for consideration as well.

I’ve been using fingerless gloves for driving for decades, now. They improve my grip, and despite being simple leather devoid of padding, they provide sufficient insulation to protect my hands from hot surfaces in my car during Texas summers.

I have mixed feelings.

I’m glad people are (seemingly) becoming more skeptical. But I hate it when skepticism is levied at one of my true anecdotes that I have no way of proving. Elsewhere, I was telling people about encountering an exhibitionist while working out in a gym, and got downvoted and mocked.🤷🏾‍♂️

I totally believe it occasionally happens. But the frequency at which you see the claims on social media doesn't make sense.

I also think it's one of those things that happened early on in the adoption of the technology, and people are just rehashing those stories now as AI gets big. Didn't your story about it happen a few years ago at this point? But all the social media stories like to pretend it just happened today.

You see the same thing in "IT Horror Stories" all the time. Yes, I believe that someone once was told "right click on the desktop" and wrote the word "click" on top of their desk. But I believe it happened just a couple of times in the 80s/90s and got retold for decades until it basically became an urban legend.
