The low fire/low hire economy is making finding a new job hard. I can only imagine how much worse it is in the DC area.

As someone who lives in the DC area ... you quite possibly cannot imagine how much worse it is here. (My fed contractor job vanished in 2017, I feel your wife's pain.)

I'm not in DC, but I work with research grade scientific equipment. One term that's been tossed around my industry is "extinction level event".

Science does seem to be a particular target this time around, yes. I worked recording audiobooks for the Library of Congress (National Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped) and the hit that took felt like ditching a program that helped people.

So many opportunities to think and re-think, “Well before I dislike a game that much, I stop playing it.” There are so many things I could be doing with my attention and money rather than shoveling them into a game I hate. i love seeing like 100 hours in a game with a thumbs down on steam..it's like did you need that much time to figure out that you didn't like it?
