I’ve been frustrated before by the fact that some of my favourite journals will not give explicit rules for what is or isn’t a conflict of interest in nominating reviewers. Can I have worked or published with them before: if so, is there a time limit? What if we’re mates but haven’t published together? What if they were kinda mean to me at a conference, but failed to swear undying enmity? We want to avoid the situation where folks just nominate their mates and rubber-stamp each others’ papers, but the most rigorous application of conflict of interest rules can leave you with almost no viable reviewers.
I have to look. I may, MAY, have a batch of unused perforated continuous paper somewhere. I definitely have some wide-format, green-and-white lined paper with RPG printouts in storage somewhere. And my dad used to bring home punch cards for note-taking, so I probably have a couple of those around as well...
Take care of your family and when you return the usual gang of idiots (including myself) will still be here. Sending you some positive energy to you and your own today, now is that 1 or 2 spoons?Speaking of reading at all, I’m taking another hiatus. Family health care crises need more brain than I have; ice go to scrape together all the resources I can. Back when there’s significant progress on any of the fronts.

“Same as it ever was!”Every time I clear my IL, the few people end up right back on it almost immediately...
