Concur. Ricotta is pretty good in lasagna or dolloped on certain pizzas, as a local artisan pizza place here does.

TBF I think that Mindcrime to Empire period roughly '88-1991 or so was the height of their popularity, and if you caught that show right when Mindcrime had found its audience it would make sense that the audience would be really excited for Queensrÿche on that tour, even though Metallica was a bigger band and had been huge since Master of Puppets came out a couple years earlier.

Back in the early '80s I went to one of the many "final tours" of The Who. At least half the audience were there to see The Clash, who opened for them. I don't think that many actually had a clue who the first act was (David Johansen of New York Dolls). Pity.

There's also always that thing where an opener suddenly hits big after a tour has been booked or already started. In Nov 2000 I saw Disturbed open for Fuel, and it felt like half the crowd left after Disturbed. The singer for Fuel was NOT pleased.

I saw Nirvana open for Alice In Chains, and Iggy Pop at the Berkeley Auditorium.

Oh, I went to the in-store appearance at Sound Future, got a CD autographed, and had Geoff Tate compliment my suspenders (white skull & crossbones on black background).

…and in concert, Tate tried to get audience participation going during “Revolution Calling”. But when he held the mic out for “REVOLUTION!”, he instead got “YAY!” (It was visibly deflating.)
