Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

For the most part, though, those games stopped coming out around the time of Vampire: The Masquerade. So folks who "played other games" but nothing after 1989 have really only seen a very narrow slice of what's out there. Which again, if they're having fun, that's great -- but it really hinders their ability to have informed opinions about RPGs more broadly.
This dovetails: These games were the definition of Heartbreaker I grew up with in that same period.

I am friends with a now very famous comic book writer....
When I was stationed at Minot AFB early in my Air Force career, my neighbor across the street happened to mention her cousin was a comic book artist. I asked his name, and when she answered, I asked (in awe), "You mean the Bill Sienkiewicz?" She had no idea just how famous he was in the comic book world, so I dug through my collection and brought her over a few samples of his work: some early Moon Knight issues, the "Demon Bear" storyline of The New Mutants, and the complete Elektra: Assassin miniseries.

She was tickled pink; she just knew him as "little Billy."

So, when my daughter was born, we went into the hospital 3 weeks earlier than expected, on March 29, 2023. I was there the whole time. After a day and a half of labor, I did what I usually do when faced with extreme stress and started making a joke that, if my wife would hold on only a little longer, the baby would be born on April 1st and the Dad Jokes would write themselves.
My brother, by similar token, was an hour and a half late - choreographing much of his life...
