Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

Hey, "On Bluesky" is another generalization! It's turtles all the way down!

It's the problem that, in real life, there are no actual generalizations that don't have problems and introduce errors. Because every case is in some way unique and should be handled in its own specific fashion, but that's too complicated for our feeble monkey-brains to do so we have use generalizations and stereotypes to not be overwhelmed.

It doesn't help that just having a general approach is good enough in a lot of cases, so there's not much evolutionary pressure to do custom approaches much.

Yes, mostly I was venting out of envy and frustration, I don't even have space for my own computer with my files right now as my house is in disarray.

BUT since I couldn't sleep I sat up and put some notes in my phone, so there's 0.1% of progress.

Hey, for all that my principal is sound (I wouldn't have gotten much of any GM prep over the years if it wasn't), you've always got the problem where you've got so much on your plate that those iterative progressions will be tiny. There's not much help for that.

Quite aware of my discomfort with having people in my space, and being remote to work for now almost 20 years, I really don't think I could be in an office, school, whatever, ever again.

Just makes my skin crawl, give me some space!

Yes, this is the result of having someone in my house disrupting my peace for less than 8 hours...

I just accepted a job that will put me back into an office. I haven't worked in an office for 18 years. I haven't even worked in the same state as my employer's office in over a decade.

I can't complain too much, though. My industry has been essentially gutted; I'm doing well to carve out a position that doesn't involve starting over. And there is a possibility of working remotely part of the time. Eventually.

Good luck!

I'm working on this house of mine, in part, in an effort to get it ready for when (if) I need to move on short notice to get a new job, so I hear that.
