I'm really getting tired of the whole "when you're on this person's website, it's like you're a guest in their home," shtick.

No, being on their website is not like being in their home just because both are privately owned. Their home doesn't have an open-door policy for anyone to enter and leave as they wish, and they certainly don't plaster their home with ads. If you want to say that there are levels of decorum that should be respected, that's fine, but that's not the most convincing argument.

But "when you're on this person's website, it's like you're a guest in their bedroom" doesn't have the same ring.

We’ve got a cyclone bearing down on us. Auckland is fairly sheltered, so I’m not expecting much other than a lot of wind and rain, but other, more exposed parts of the North Island are going to get hammered!

In Tauranga, and a couple of hours ago had red warning emergency alert for high winds. Our house is in a reasonable location at least, but will be a day at home tomorrow
