MANY people here do not engage in good faith, deliberately troll, bait for the culture war, or are so fundamentally stuck on pineapple there is zero value in engaging or polluting your mind.

Anyways, I was chatting with and watching the guy doing work at my place today and it's a great reminder of the life I left a long time ago.

1. The stuff he's working with daily, will cause cancer eventually, or respiratory disease at best.

2. His body will fall apart decades before it naturally should.

3. He's not making what he should, but everyone undercuts everyone else, to say nothing of unlicensed work.

4. He's got a bunch of guys who couldn't afford to keep doing the work, they had to move because of the cost of living.

Sobering stuff, and a reminder that I've been blessed. Even if it's 2 hours later than I'd like, I'm off to the gym, and that alone is a gift.

The parts I can do are complete for now, I'm at the novice level so have pros doing stuff right now.

All I can do is support clean up efforts, make their lives easier, and try and keep the wife happy while our house is in shambles.

Next few weeks are going to be.

Packing stuff to storage.
Painting the new ceiling and walls.
Prepping floors for install.
Installing Bathroom Vanity.

Beyond that, I don't know, but my ceiling is looking good so far? lol

Even before I was asked to join the modding staff here, I didn’t use my IL here…or anywhere else.

My perspective is that sometimes, it’s more important to hear those I most strongly disagree with in order to get the fullest picture of the situation. Know thy enemy, as some have said.

Yea, I never did anywhere else either. Here has been the first place, and for the longest time I didn't use it here. Almost seems like it's mandatory here now. Though that's probably less about 'here' and more about 2026 internet. Everything is soo socially and politically charged these days.

Yeah, but once they are known, what's the point? They add nothing of value to me, and so become ghosts that torment others.
