Aaaaand, decided I'd have a second atrial fibrillation event in six months. Fun.

(Yes, I'm both home and fine. It ran pretty standard, late night surpise, ER visit, admitted while they pumped me full of some chemicals, my heart going "Oh, guess I'm supposed to actually beat evenly," go home.)
Glad your okay. Not long ago I went in to the ER for soemthing unrelated and ended up being monitored for "how have you not had a stroke?" blood pressure levels.

That was sorta me in my 30s. After years of having “high normal” BP, I suddenly had BP readings of 200+/200+, completely asymptomatic. (That is NOT a typo.)

After noting my diet was already considered to be “low sodium”, they tested me for EVERYTHING. My MD called me in and said my results were insane: everything they tested me for came back dead center of the ideal range, the kind of numbers you only see in text and lab equipment manuals. He said I possibly had some kind of as-yet undetected microtumor in my brain, something unknown to science, or extreme sensitivity to one of the more mundane triggers for hypertension.

LUCKILY, it was #3: I’m super-sensitive to salt- the worst he’d seen in 40+ years of practice. My salt intake was cut some more, and they gave me a new cocktail of meds at higher doses.

Within 2 weeks, I’d dropped 20lbs of weight and my BP was solidly in the normal range.
