Pinning and moving in a grapple

First Post
If you pin an opponent in a grapple, you hold him immobile (not helpless) for 1 round.
This is an attack, so it is AT LEAST a Standard Action.

Moving an opponent, states that you can do that by winning a grapple check as a Standard action.
And that you get a +4 to your check if your opponent is pinned.

But how can this happen?

1st round - you win grapple check and pin opponent for 1 round
1st round - opponent can´t break pin
2nd round - opponent is no longer pinned (the 1 round pin duration expires, like Stunning Fist) so if you move it, you don´t get the +4 pin bonus

Am I missing something?

I initially thought 'Yeah, you're missing something."

But I reread the SRD and now I think "no, you're not missing anything!"

When grappling a creature, you can either use an attack (a Standard Action) to Pin the creature or you can Move the grapple (a Standard Action), but not both, regardless of how many grapple attempts you may have.

I suspect that this is a carry over from 3.0E where a pin lasted until broken.

An ally does the pinning, you do the moving.
Mmm... it seems that you can´t:

Move: You can move half your speed (bringing all others engaged in the grapple with you) by winning an opposed grapple check. This requires a standard action, and you must beat all the other individual check results to move the grapple.

Note: You get a +4 bonus on your grapple check to move a pinned opponent, but only if no one else is involved in the grapple.
I mean, you can, but then, you don´t benefit from that +4, which was the reason of this in the first place.

Iterative attacks?

Say you get three attacks in a full round.
#1 Grapple
#2 Pin
#3 Move

The more experienced and powerful you are, the more you are able to do in the same amount of time.

(?)

having multiple attacks in a round gives you multiple grapple attempts. As werk stated..you can initiate a grapple, pin, and move the grapple all in one round if you have three attacks.

Having iterative attacks grants you nothing, since moving in a grapple is a Standard Action, not a grapple/attack.

Move: You can move half your speed (bringing all others engaged in the grapple with you) by winning an opposed grapple check. This requires a standard action, and you must beat all the other individual check results to move the grapple.

Hence the multiple question marks in my post...

This make sense, in a way, because you shouldn't get the move in addition to a full round attack action.

So, yeah, can't make the grapple check to keep the pin and take a standard action in the same round... That's poorly designed...
