Pint Sized Sword and Sorcery

Noticing the others are a little undecided, Mary looks around for people who might have seen the priests. Maybe there's a fish market just outside the docks, like in Neva Town. The fishermen there are always shouting, but they would surely notice some priest likely to have money.
"Let's find out where those priests went." she says and she trails off leaving the docks behind.

Garreth glances around at others before shrugging his shoulders and scurrying after Mary. As he follows he keeps his eyes open for anyone he recognizes that might know about the priests.

Not far from the docks... actually, within the docks but in another part of them (Samis is an extensive port town, doing quite a bit of buisness with countries on the mainland far far away) is a sight that had been familiar in Erdafel, or at least, had been familiar in Erdafel a little while ago.

Street preachers. Exhorting all those "blessed by the forest" to worship it. And the preacher attributed, more or less, just about all recent fortunes to the forest. The trade winds, the rain last summer that made the crops grow twice as large and twice as fast (enabling TWO harvests!)... the fact that the Dragon's monster raids had more or less vanished recently enabling safer travel, general health and well being, the recent decrease in crime... ALL these things and more were being attributed to the Navan Forest.

As in Erdafel before the raid, people were more or less ignoring the man.

Edwina will note that although he is dressed similarly (and not even exactly at that) he is not one of the men who accosted her. He might know about them though, hm?

Vandir scowled the memory of what had happened in Erdafel was still very clear in his mind. First the preachers, then the night of the shadows and then the temple said elfs were bad and forced them to move.

"Is that the priest Edwina?" Vandir asked "They use to be in Erdafel. I don't like them"

Upon hearing Vandir's pronouncement, Garreth turns to watch the priest as he expounds upon the wonders of the Forest. Listening with one ear, he cocks his head slightly towards Vandir.

"Oh, what's so bad about 'em? Not that I'm defending them or anything. It's just, well he seems rather silly to be actually bad or some such. Really, how's a buncha trees supposed to do all that stuff that he's sayin' anyhow?"

"My Da said it aint the trees we need worry 'bout, its the people that listen to the priests without thinking. Bad things happen when those preachers come to town."
His young mind was throbbing trying to articulate his thoughts but unsure of the words to say...

Edwina listened to Vandir, and thought for a moment. She had little education, but her mind contained wisdom that many never achieved in a lifetime.

"Words can be more dangerous than weapons, if the wrong ears hear them. My people have a saying, 'One weapon can kill a man, but one word can kill a thousand.' We already know they aren't nice people, after all, they tried to kidnap me, and they kidnapped my friend! Besides, the Wild doesn't care about what race you are. Everybody tastes the same to a wolf. I bet they are just using people's fears to take control for themselves."

Mick trails along behind the group quietly. He'll keep his eyes open the whole time, hoping to find something interesting or useful while the others talk.

Garreth turns to face Ed.

"So, it was a priest like this one who took your friend Edwina? The same ones as caused trouble in Vandir's home? That just ain't right. There aren't many priests around here, but I always thought they were supposed to help people. Maybe they're not really priests, and are just lying to everyone. Anyways, we can't do anything just standing here. I'm gonna go talk to him, see if we can't find out where they mighta taken your friend."

Garreth walks over to the priest with a determined look on his face. When he gets near, he stops and stares intently up at the priest as the man preaches.

Edwina decides that, since priests of said faith have tried to kidnap her before, making herself visible to the priests might be a bad idea at this point, and tries to find a good vantage point to watch what may be a very interesting event, while hiding herself FROM said interesting event.
