You should never take this feat.

An extra +2 is too small a benefit for a narrow and specialized bonus. It is also thoroughly mediocre for a feat with three prereqs: combat reflexes, combat reflexes on your ally, dual strike on your ally.

It is also unclear how it interacts with targets which cannot be flanked. Do you get +0 or +4?

Never?

How about 2 rogues who already took Combat Reflexes in order to take Expert Tactician? This would be the greatest use for the feat I think. Or 2 fighters who get bookoos of feats? Or one rogue and one fighter? +2 for a fighter isn't that big of a deal, but for rogues...different story. Monks could also benefit from this feat, though I wouldn't take it until higher levels, 12+. It's true though, you'd have to "buddy up" with another ally and basically fight next to each other most of the time to get maximum benefit from this feat. In certain groups, this might work out great...in others not so great. Not to mention if a certain player with Dual Strike only shows up every other session.:D

I say it's average, perhaps slightly above or below.

Yes, never.

It is not that the feat is never useful. It is just difficult to conceive of a character who would not gain greater benefit from some other feat.

A Rogue? Weapon Focus and/or Weapon Finesse or Improved Initiative will be a lot more helpful.

A random +2 save booster or Skill Focus or Toughness are more likely to be used. That is definitely true for a Fighter, BTW.

Right, I meant to say at higher levels, after stuff like you mentioned has been taken. As I said, it is likely the rogue already has the prerequisites by 12th level or so. A rogue/fighter is an even better example. To say never is a bit too extreme in this case imo.

smetzger, are you going to do this for every feat in S&F?!? It's wearing thin, chummer.

Yes. Sorry if its wearing thin for you, but I think the research will be usefull. I will post averages for all the feats once I am done.

Scott, why the hell don't you collect it into a single thread, instead of annoying us with these fricking polls all of the time?

You could easily have listed all the feats you wanted rated on a scale from 1 to 5 in a single thread.

I for one refused to voting after the second thread.
