In my game, we've gotten as far as Vanrakdoom (floor 18) so far, and the PCs just hit 16th level. The drow on the 3rd floor TPKed the first party, but the players wanted to continue. I've been running it as a basic "beer and pretzels" game. The lack of a plot is a feature for us rather than a bug. We needed a break during covid from the more story-heavy campaigns I'd been running previously. My players are also keen to make it to 20th level at least once, and this seems like the easiest way to do that, so I think we'll stick with it till the end.I'm on my third attempt to get a group through Waterdeep: Dungeon of the Mad Mage, which has become the Moby Dick of 5E for me.
