We don't expect it, but we also don't serve up the ads ourselves, either.

Surely at this point, after all the complaints of that very thing, it’s got to be expected.

No one actually begrudges Morrus for implementing the intrusive ads instead of taking more losses on the site. But it’s also not like Enworld at large doesn’t have the ability to remove them. The choice was made not to (IMO a good choice, but still a choice).

Ya. Other sites I go to remove them. I have no issue with ads on general....

Not really. The thing is the bad behavior of ads changes over time as advertisers willfully or accidentally submit newly creative forms of malformed ads that the services don't always catch that interacts poorly with site code.

That the ads sometimes misbehave is known. Exactly how alters, sometimes in unexpected ways.

I’ve noticed in the last few days an extra ad close to the bottom right. It has what seems to be a delayed close button.

The bottom banner stopped having a close button at least a few weeks ago.

What is amusing is seeing the adds overlay each other.

The new ads seem to have more motion, which I find extremely distracting, and degrading to my experience here.

I understand the need for ads. However, there is a point where usability suffers too much.
