So, this "green roniiiin" pronounciation. I'm not a native english speaker, is it common to pronounce "ronin" lika that, almost like it's rhyming with "green"?

Sounds weird to me.

I gotta admit, while it's technically right (the romaji "i" is pronounced "ee", as in green), I don't read it that way in my head.

Then again, hearing the WOTC guys call it EE EN World threw me too. I never read it that way in my head. It's always been "N" World.

All the sources I can find pronounce it as "nin" (although this pronunciation sounds between the two), at least for the "english" pronounciation.

However, it's Chris' company, so he can pronounce it as he likes. I knew a woman whose name was spelled "Janet" but pronounced "Jannette."

Huh. Really? I never once imagined it was "N World." I've always thought of it as "EE EN."

I've always pronounced it EE EN because it was initials. Having heard others say "N", I made a point of asking Morrus at Gen Con how he said it. He too says EE EN.

That's hpw I've always said it. I suspect that everyone who knows the origin of the site pronounces it that way. Those who don't probably have a mish-mash of pronounciations.
