Nebuchadnezzar
First Post
Note: This prestige class was partially inspired by the Knight of the Chalice from Defenders of the Faith. There will be more flavour text later. The organization the exalted hunter of Amon-Kea is a member of, the Exalted, will also receive more detail later. Here is a very, very brief outline:
The Exalted are celestials, half-celestials, and similar creatures devoted to the destruction of fiends. The organization is run by three powerful angels, called the Triumvirate, who intend to continue the war against evil abandoned by Heaven.
Amon-Kea is the citadel of the Exalted. Located alongside the northern edge of the Black Canyon, the citadel houses more than two thousand creatures, including the Triumvirate and the private chambers of the exalted hunters.
Derhaculx is the fiend responsible for breaking the Divine Pact. He revealed to the mortals that their souls are destined to the Void after death, not the planar domains of their divine patrons. The Exalted saw it fit to punish Derhaculx, and subsoquently captured him. He was condemned to torture and mutilation at the hands of the Exalted. His blood has been drained from his body, and sees use as a way of testing candidates for the exalted hunter prestige class. The fiend's inherent magical nature coupled with a ring of regeneration allows him to live, horrible wounds and pain he suffers every day and night.
Exalted Hunter of Amon-Kea (Exh)
An elite member of the Exalted charged with the quest to slay fiends primarily in Khanesh, but also in other planes. Reflecting the discriminatory decree of the Triumvirate, only members of the Exalted who are human may aspire to become exalted hunters. The Triumvirate has also decreed that these humans must be descendants of celestials, for only creatures blessed with celestial blood are fit to become celestials (or so the Triumvirate believes). These celestial qualities are gained as the exalted hunter advance in the prestige class and become more powerful. There are never more than twenty-five exalted hunters at any given time and they usually prefer to work alone. Even the most powerful and vile fiend quiver at the thought of doing battle with an exalted hunter of Amon-Kea.
Hit Die: d10.
REQUIREMENTS
To qualify to become an Exalted Hunter of Amon-Kea, a character must fulfill all the following criteria.
Alignment: Any nonevil.
Race: Human.
Base Attack Bonus: +8.
Feats: Celestial Blood, Toughness.
Knowledge (fiends): 10 ranks.
Knowledge (the planes): 5 ranks.
Special: The character must already be a member of the Exalted. In addition, the character must survive three initiation rites. He must survive one day in Hell alone equiped only with the gear he can carry himself. Secondly, he must bathe in the vile blood of Derhaculx which requires two successful saving throws: A DC 15 Foritude save and a DC 10 Will save. If the Fortitude save fails, the character dies. If the Will save fails, the character's alignment changes to Chaotic Evil. In the event of an alignment change, the Exalted will attack and presumably slay the character, as he bathes naked without any gear and equipment. The last initiation rite is to drink from the sacrificial chalice blood of each of the Triumvirate. If the character has any ill intentions regarding his call as an exalted hunter, in the sense that he plans to abuse his powers and responsabilities in any way, drinking from the chalice will slay him. When slain in this manner, a character can never be raised or ressurected.

How does it look? Weak, balanced, too powerful? Unoriginal, original, outlandish? What do you think?
