Prestige Class: Husband

There are benefits. When you leave the PrC, you get 'Vow of Poverty' for free.

No. You get VoP when you get this PrC. You only lose 50% of your wealth when you leave it, instead of 100% while in it. However when you leave it, if your diplomacy skill is high enough, you have the option of picking up a sexy 22 year old girl cohort. ;-)

Diplomacy? I thought that was a function of your wealth score...

You forgot a few class abilities...

Honey Do List (Ex): At the behest of your better half, you have a buttload of work to do around the house. When working on the Honey Do List, you may add 10 to your speed in order to get the work done. Knowledge (Home Repair) checks under this increased speed suffer a -2 penalty.

Husbandly Charm (Ex): When the man goofs (and he does!), he may make a Charisma check at DC 25 in order to beg an apology from the wife. The DC is reduced to 20 if accompanied by flowers, chocolates, or both.

Wrong When Right (Su): The husband learns that even when he's right, he's wrong. The husband may add his Husband prestige class levels to all Wisdom checks to figure out that he better suck it up and apologize, even when he feels that he's right and an apology isn't necessary.

Don't forget:

Yes Dear (Ex): You gain the ability to multi task by being able to say "Yes Dear," as a free action while you are otherwise engaged.

Vow of abstinence (Ex): You get Vow of abstinence as a free bonus feat.

Biological Clock (Ex): You are 'allowed' to break your Vow of abstinence once when your wife realizes that she is not getting any younger. If your wife does not take with child, at her option you make break it again.

Moment of drunken weakness (or oops) (Ex): Once per year you are allowed to get your wife stinking drunk, which may result in the breaking of your Vow of abstinence. During this time, she might take with child.

Beg and Pled(Ex): Years of constantly being told what to do and when, resulting in your weakened resolve to obey her orders. You have mastered the art of begging and pleding to get what you want. You can take 10 on checks to see if you get your way and you can add your PrC class level to that score. Unfortunately, she gets a +20 to see past your schemes.

Thicker than water (Ex): Years of abuse have made you immune to mind and complusion effects. You also get DR equal to your PrC level.

Trust me, I know ;) :) :D

My wife deals with the vermin in our house. Spiders ook me out.

This is one of those things that's funnier if it's actually something you're subjected to, I suppose. I've never understood the whole ball and chain, honey do list nonsense. :)

Cheers,
Cam

What about the bonus feat?

Big Daddy Feat - After an indeterminate amount of time as PRC: Husband, you acquire a small henchperson known as "Child" who may refer to you by the grand title of "Not the Momma" :heh:

Try this:

Husband (Template)
Abilities: Str -2. Dex -2. Con +2. Wis -4. Cha +2.
Skills: Bluff +4 (+6 vs. single females). Concentration +4 (selective hearing). Craft (Home Repair) +4. Diplomacy +4 (yes, dear). Decipher Script +6 (reading instruction manuals, handwritten notes, etc.). Gather Information +4 (reading daily paper, share drinks with co-workers, friends). Heal +2 (kiss it and make it better). Intimidate +8 (vs. kids only, vs. wife bonus becomes penalty of equal amount). Listen -4 (what was that, honey). Move Silently +2 (for coming in late at night, sneaking out). Open Locks +4 (at home only). Perform: Oratory +4 (bedtime stories). Perform: Singing +4 (Lullabys and nursery rhymes). Profession: Any +2 (you find yourself working harder than ever). Search -4 (honey, where are the keys?). Sense Motive -4 (you don't know what it's like, you only go to work, I'm here all day). Speak Languages (Babyspeak and Nonsense for free).
Feats: Dodge. Endurance. Great Fortitude (until family recovers from illness, then you take the same bonus as a penalty against that same malady). Improved Disarm (bonus is +6 when attempting to take away small sharp objects). Improved Grapple (against kids your size or smaller). Improved Unarmed Strike (against subjects bent over your knee or across the furniture). Leadership (wife is your cohort but can--and often will--exceed your level). Negotiator (for checks against kids only; acts as penalty toward wife). Persuasive (bonus to Bluff toward wife, Intimidate toward any kids). Run (toward or from family members only). Simple Weapon Proficiency (Belt). Simple Weapon Proficiency (Paddle). Weapon Focus & Specialization (Belt, Hand, Paddle) (Applies only when spanking). Whirlwind Attack (gained once you have at least two kids both at least 2 or older).
Saves: Fort +4, Ref -2, Will -2
Special:
Wedding Ring: This must be the most expensive piece of jewelry worn, or at least the most prominent. The presence of this ring must be made apparent, whether subtley or obviously when other females equal to your Wife's Cha score are present (she will let you know), and always when single women are present. It must be maintained at all times and if it is ever removed (SR 60, +8 to Will saves against any charm or compulsion directing you to do so), there better be a darn good reason for it.
Spousal Insight: You are more familiar with your wife than anyone else. You know her ability scores, her saves, skill ranks and feats. You know what her possessions are and may borrow and use them as needed (if you ask nicely and there is a genuine need for them--that doesn't creep her out or make her suspicious). You provide a +6 bonus instead of +2 when assisting her with a skill check and you get the same bonus when she assists you.
Pride: If something needs to be done, you will do it alone, even if your wife can do it better. You gain a +10 bonus to resist attempts (Bluff or Diplomacy checks) to convince you to let her do something, assist you in doing something or letting someone else do what needs being done (and you have to roll, she won't let you off the hook as easily as just refusing). If you fail the check, she assists you or let someone else do the task, you suffer a -4 self esteem penalty to all rolls and checks for the next 1D6+1 hours or days depending on the importance of the task and may be subject to teasing, chiding or joking about the incident at any moment, by anyone that knows or learns of it.
Wealth: You no longer have your own money. You and your spouse now have personal wealth equal to the average of your character levels +2, unless a pre-nup is signed. If you keep your own wealth through pre-nup, you still must consult your wife about purchases which can only be made once expenses are taken care of. This money goes to paying all regular expenses, setting aside some for savings, and cannot be used without permission from the Wife. Any expenses over 1gp/level will need to have a good explanation and may still result in a period of Sleeping on the Couch, as determined by the Wife.
Man of the House: You get +4 to all skill checks made in the house (unless contested against your Wife) and you can Take 10 on any check to repair, open, disable or break any object in the home. You may use Greater Command on any children at will as a caster of equal level as a free action. You may also use this on the Wife, if it is phrased as a request and she is not already busy with something else. Excessive use of this will result in penalties to Bluff and Diplomacy checks and possibly Sleeping on the Couch. You consequently are subject to Greater Command from your wife at any moment. You get no SR against this effect and take a -4 penalty to your Will save to resist. You can ignore the penalty if you are ok with Sleeping on the Couch.
Spanking: You may use Fear with any children to get them to move into or out of a different part of the house or yard or to comply with any request. They get no save if you are holding a blunt object and/or the threat of spanking is involved. You may use this effect on your wife, but she gets normal SR and a +4 save against this effect. If she makes her save, she laughs at you so much that your Pride is hurt and you suffer effects of failed Pride. If she fails her check, she will comply, but you will be Sleeping on the Couch that night. She can choose to fail the check voluntarily and can compel you to use the threat of spanking against her at any time (no save).
Sleeping on the Couch: You can sleep on any piece of furniture capable of supporting your weight and gain as much rest as if you had slept 1/2 the listed time on a bed. This is to be done if you are up when everyone else has already gone to bed and can be mandated by the Wife at will, for any reason listed or not listed here already.
Work: You must have ranks in a money making skill (Craft, Perform, or Profession), and you must make at least 2X your monthly expenses, involving being away from the house at least 6-8 hrs a day. If you do not, you must take a second job (-8 to all skills, -4 to Fort saves, -2 to Dex and -2 to Int, Wis and Cha as long as you have a second job, and you lose the Endurance feat. You are more susceptible to sleep, stun and hold effects and take a further -4 penalty when attempting to resist these.).
Kill it: You can instantly and as a free action automatically kill any Vermin or Animal of Diminutive or Fine size that fails a Reflex save (DC 25). The vermin in question only get a reflex save to avoid instant death if there is a crack to crawl into or a piece of furniture or other object of Medium or larger size to use as cover that is within 1' of their current position. If you fail to kill the vermin, you suffer the penalties for failed Pride for 1D4X10 minutes, and must make a Will save (DC 25) to avoid the compulsion to continue seeking the vermin's destruction. If this is used to kill anything your wife or daughter finds cute, you suffer the failed effects of Pride until you make them feel better and/or forgive you.
Family Time: At least 1/week, you must spend a minimum of 4 hrs with your family doing what they want. If you do not or do so with a negative attitude, you will be Sleeping on the Couch. Positive and frequent family time will result in a +4 bonus to Bluff/Diplomacy checks toward your Wife for "alone" time.
