Problems at the gaming table.

Hewards Handy Haversack. Out of curiosity and because our group was finding many scrolls, I calculated how many scrolls can be put into one of the side pockets - approxiamately 10000. Based on volume and weight. With the HHH's special property, whatever you want is on top, you just have to remember that you have it. The 5000 may have been hyperbole (and likely was) but it is possible.

It is true that the HHH does give you what you want when you want it, but I suspect you need to recalculate the amount of scrolls it would hold. One side pocket holds only 2 cubic feet in volume and 20 lbs in weight. No specific weight is given for scrolls (that I can find) but I guess the average scroll, including container weighed about 1-2 lbs. Without a container, but still with the strips of leather or wood I would put the weight at 1/4 to 1/2 a lb. This cuts the number of scrolls down to somewhere between 10 and 80 per side pocket. It also means that the main pocket will hold between 40 and 320 scrolls. This means one HHH will hold somewhere between 60 and 480 scrolls. Which is a lot but a far cry from 10000.

Well maybe not 5000 but in stripping his wizard we found around a hundred in a HHH. Another HHH was stocked with potions.

FYI he was not roleplaying his wizard. Our group is very light on the RP (but we're picking up more) and all of his characters are the same. None of them are a team player.

He's looking a getting a job that will having him work nights and weekends.

Well, keep us updated!

I would seriously recommend that the entire group sit this guy down and explain to him exactly how foolish and offensive his behavior has been, and try to make him understand that he's risking the boot. In my experience, it's better to give a warning or two before you exile someone from the table; otherwise they can feel like you just dropped them on the spur of the moment due to a petty argument, etc.

One side pocket holds only 2 cubic feet in volume and 20 lbs in weight.

The limitation here is not weight, but volume. For the sake of argument, let us say that a scroll tube is 1' long, 1" wide. In cm, this is 25.4 cm long and 2.54 cm wide, making a volume of:

25.4cm x 3.14 x 1.27^2 = 129 cm^3 or 0.0046 ft^3

Which makes this hold 434 scrolls

Argh, dump the chump!

This isn't mismanagement of player/character expectations -- like so many have said before, this is an abusive player taking advantage of others.

Tell the bard's player to read this thread, and let him know we support him!

The player who was running the wizard is now running a strait fighter. He's still being a pain in the 4$$. The bard who was out of spells moved in front of the fighter to attack. (He didn't block the fighter off from the combat.) The fighter says something to the effect of "If the bard wants to play fighter let him. I'm waiting until he dies and then I'll attack." I guess my 1200 lb. 12'2" cleric (love Righteous Might) should have straitened out the fighter, a member of the same faith of the cleric.

Later he was gripeing at the bard because he used up the last knock spell to open a door we need through at the time and didn't have one later. The ironic part is that we got those scrolls of his dead wizard and there would have been more if he hadn't wasted them on doors that the bard's modest open lock skill could have got.

To the people who wished to be informed on our groups trip into Nightfang Spire we are right next to the end of it and have only had one other character die. Unfortunately it was mine. Bit the dust in the riddle room. Fortunately the bard was able to run my character back to town and thankfully we had a few favors that we could call in and enough money for a True Res.

If this is how the player acts. Giving up combat just because the Bard gets into melee, then the DM should bounce him. He has made it clear that his is against the player in question and takign it out on him with passive-aggressive actions.

At best your DM should get these people together, outside of the game and work it out. Maybe this player doesn't like the other player for some unknown reason and that can be worked out. If not. I'd tell the player that I hear that ther is this really cool game that you can play called solitare.
