Maybe this will become the 4E "Monster Manual 4".
You would think so.
But the rules for Shadowrun are rather dense. With a lot of modifiers, a need to have the GM screen just to run the silly thing, and a lot of gear and whatnot that can get confusing. It is definitely a setting that is not nice to casual gamers.
I wish I could be more specific, but at the moment all I can say is the Shadowrun folks are working on ways to get different kinds of gamers involved in Shadowrun. Keep hope alive!
