Proper Evil Laughter

Surely you can only tell a truly evil genius by the fact that they don't just laugh once?

I mean, surely all evil masterminds go: Bwah-ha-ha-ha-ha! BWAH-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA! getting louder and louder as the screen fades out?

Otherwise all the Dr.Evil jokes wouldn't work!

PS: Dr. Evil did have a very good evil laugh. The gesture only added to it.

for real research into evil laughs, look at the joker, the penguin and the riddler.

joker- maniacal uncaring laughter

the riddler- self-concious giggling

the penguin- upper-class chortle

I did really freak some preople out once with:

What? stop staring at me! Doesn't everyone use evil laughter in public?:D

I haven't heard a laugh like that since the 1960's Batman TV show. :)

The appropriate evil laugh is done by the Master of Evil Laughter, Dr. Evil, in the Austin Powers movies.

Vincent Price's evil laughter is in another category of evil. That category cannot be touched by anyone in this plane, or the hereafter.

My version of evil laughter is known as the "ominous close-mouthed chuckle." This is best performed by someone with a Baritone or lower vocal range, and is well-known in my gaming groups, especially when a player makes a drastically dangerous (and to me humorous) assumption.

"We're only first level. There's no WAY a dragon could be at the bottom of this dungeon complex."

I was always fond of Jabba the Hutt's throaty chuckle, just as he was tossing some poor soul into the gaping maw of a ravenously ferocious beast solely for the pleasure of himself and his lackeys...

Veetcha hwankee Chewbacca. Hoh ho ho...

I always felt the laugh should match the villian, the crazed crackle, the deep chuckle, the smiling mmmm. All should say something about the bad guy.

Price ruled with his.

If anyone can actually match The Joker's mad laughter that spreads out all over the page, then I'll be impressed.

And one way to really freak out your players is to do one small piece of mad laughter and then cut off and say something else, eg

"Bwahahahahahaha - make a Fortitude save."
