Publishers that dislike d20 . . .

I suspect there are plenty of people in the industry who really don't like statting d20 NPCs, or making new d20 monsters. (I'm not one of them, myself, but I know plenty who are.)

Well, I also suspect there are many DMs who dislike this part of the game as well. So, it is very understandible why some writers would also not like it.

One of the designer guys at AEG working on spygate (and spycraft IIRC??) at the time admitted/posted he thought working with d20 rules was like "masturbating with an over mitt" as he was working with those rules for their game(s).

Exact Quote
within the constraints of the d20 system - and those who've been following my subtext for a while now are aware that I find working with d20 mechanics about like masturbating with an oven mitt in terms of elegance and satisfaction.

I know that I've never really liked d20. I think it was designed by a bunch of hacks.

d20 is great, I just wish I get my players to get on board.

I tire of AD&D 2nd edition :(

Perhaps stress the greater number of options available to characters, and show them some of the stuff that WotC put online as conversion guides. (Check the Wizards website and do a search.)
