I don't know how available it is these days, but few adventures say pulp like the Masks of Nyarlathotep campaign for Call of Cthulhu. If you use Adventure!d20 rules, which I imagine are more suited to two-fisted action than CoC ever was, the tone of the campaign would change, but the action would be much more fun.
The straight-out sorcery and creatures from beyond would not fit in the Adventure! default setting, though. But in return, you get a world-spanning conspiracy, which would take players around the world to locations that you would associate with Doctor Indiana Jones like New York, London, Cairo, Kenya, and Shanghai. And the villians are as dastardly as one could hope.
