Quick Draw for items?

On a tangential note, I noticed something when going over the specifics for the Sleight of Hand skill. It says that retrieving a weapon hidden on your body is a standard action. It also says that using Sleight of Hand in any manner is a standard action, but can be made a free action by taking a -20 penalty to the check.

The way I'm going to interpret that (and I'm relatively confident this isn't a house rule) is that, when making the initial Sleight of Hand check to hide weapons on my character's body, she can take a -20 check when hiding them - recording the score for later in case anyone tries a Spot or Search check to locate them - and can then draw them as a free action (and I'm taking Quick Draw anyway, so that helps).

The good part is, since she's hiding the weapons ahead of time, there's no reason not to take 20 while doing so, essentially making her Sleight of Hand check equal her total bonus in the skill. :]

I don't think you're reading it right. If you took a -20 on your SoH check, you could hide a weapon on your body as a free action. It would still be a standard action to draw it, that has nothing to do with your SoH check. Sorry!

Well now you're just bringing me down. :p
