Reach weapon and AOO

Hmmm... what if he wore a spiked guantlet? Would he be able to hold on to the spear in his off hand and use the spiked guantlet?

Or for that matter, could he hold on to the spear with his off hand, and wield any weapon in his primary hand?

And sheesh... reading through all of these feats and classes (not to mention prestige classes)... Wow! Getting overload trying to narrow the options!

I didn't think 3.5 was that much different than 3.0, but I really struggled with 3.0 for a while. At this point the real problem is trying to remember everything correctly.

All of those suggestions above incur TWF (two-weapon fighting) penalties and require switching around your weapons before and after your actions, relatively impossible without quickdraw...which is also a fine feat. I'm a big fan of reach weapons with armor spikes (look ma, no hands) and others on this board LOVE spiked chains.
