Readied Action doesn't change your initiative?

So did Chris Perkins screw up or have I been doing readied actions wrong all this time?

In the podcast, Ranrock had a readied action that went off later in the same round. In the next round, he started at his same initiative. I always thought the init changes to when the readied action goes off.

I am not sure, because I am at least confusing 3E and 4E rules.

There used to be readied actions and delaying your action.
- Ready goes off when a specifyed trigger occurs, you act first. Your initiative is unchanged and you lose the action if the trigger doesn't occur before your turn.
- Delay means you act later than usual. This changes your initiative. No chance for interrupts.

The book agrees with the OP (in both 3rd and 4th), but I (and I guess Mr perkisn) uses a house rule that readied actions do not change your initiative in 4E. When the readied action went from an interrupt to a reaction, I felt the initiative crux just added unneeded complexity.

I am sure Chris was trying to keep it simple for the Robot Chicken crew. They were on a time frame and he didnt have the time to do a primer on how everything works.

And I have that opinion of 4th edition for those coming from other editions, forget everything you know or knew, and use the KISS principle.
