Return of B5?

Well, its about time! I'm still irritated at the way Crusade got the axe and (IMHO) LotR was a complete disappointment. Hopefully things develop here. Better yet, hopefully we're talking about a new series.

I wouldn't mind a return to Crusade, though getting a few of the key actors might be difficult at this point.

If I had to posit a theory, it would be something about the Telepath War. It's the one area of the B5 story which has never been expanded on. Not in books, not in Crusade, not in any of the materials.

All that is known is (possible spoilers)
Lyta's group wins the war. Along the way Lennier dies (as said by JMS himself). The Psi Corp is dismantled, but Bester escapes, finally hunted down by Garibaldi and imprisoned for life. The only discrepency is that Lyta was supposed to appear on Crusade, but JMS has also said she died in the Telepath War. On the other hand, Marcus was supposed to be in LotR, but that got nixed when Ms. Christian left the show.
So it seems he has deliberately left the war open-ended, possibly for a future story to be told.

EDIT: Also, on an un-related note, this timing of this coincides nicely with his leaving Jeremiah (a real shame). He seems to have planned completely for this as being his next project.

"Is that drool on your chin?"

"Why yes it is."

My guess is also the T-P wars. That was the other five year block scheduled into things. The books about Bester being brought down were pretty good also. My only request is that Byron must never be mentioned. :)

Byron gets a bad rap - he wouldn't have been nearly as bad if he didn't have to follow Marcus. Well, and if he didn't have to look so much like him.

I'm actually hoping that its not about the telepath wars. Telepaths are interesting, but not so much so that I want to see 5 years of them. I would rather see a show centering around their conflicts with the drakh, the chilling of their relations with the centauri, and the development of the Interstellar Alliance.

Hey, actually that describes the B5 RPG campaign i want to run.

I would also be completely happy with them bringing back Crusade. They could finish out season 1 and then go forward with it from there if they can just reassemble the cast.

One of these days, I'd just love to see JMS release a full description of the way he originally planned his stories, and comments on how he had to change things when actors left, or shows got cancelled, or the network did something stupid. I know in my heart of hearts that the time travel two-part episode with B4 in season 3 was supposed to fit in with the end of the series, instead of the middle.

Now, of course, I love the ending of B5. Best series finale I've ever seen, and incredibly sappy to boot. But I still kinda want to know what was supposed to happen. :)
