I don't really know about you guys, but did you ever get a good answer from them? I mailed them several times till now and nearly every time I got the opposite answer from somewhere else...
Last time I asked something, they mailed back, I asked again because they didn't understand my answer and he said he'll ask someone from the D&D team. Whatever that means.
I recently exchanged some e-mails with customer support regarding
polymorph. The guy I talked to was nice, helpful and remarkably patient. He was also next to useless.
He failed to understand several of my questions (no doubt not all his fault

) and when I pressed him about a couple of his answers it became clear that he was just giving me his
opinions. (And not very well though through opinions at that.) Which may not seem so terrible, but if I just want some stranger's opinion I can ask my questions on the boards.
In my very first message I pointed out that most of my questions involved the
intent of the game designers (much like the
ring of counterspells question) and could not be answered by anyone else. I got answers to all my questions. Yay. In his third reply to me (after several proddings) he finally explained that he hadn't asked anyone else, and that he had no intention of doing so.
"If R&D folk answered questions regarding rules they wouldn't have time to be R&D folk."
I find that this explains a lot.
If R&D spent a little time finding out what people want from the rules they might be better at delivering it...
