D&D 5E (2014) Rising from the Last War preview featuring Keith Baker

Goodberry (which I saw is on hospitality) to some degree, although that's more because Goodberry Wine was specifically a druid thing and thus difficult to get (per Five Nations). Goodberry Wine is useful because goodberry (per 3.5 rules) was the only way to meaningfully heal inside the Mournland. From some other stuff though they're going with that's not a general rule, just one possible effect of some areas of the Mournland.
The cyre(mournland) section doesn't seem to mention the old effects of the mournland, but this does a great job of giving a bunch of 5e mechanics for different aspects of it Kendal Santor's Treatise on the Mournland - Dungeon Masters Guild | Dungeon Masters Guild

I think it's just a simple "Add these spells to the spell list of any spellcasting class you have, normal rules otherwise apply." Which can work in 5e because NPCs aren't built with PC rules anymore. That means you can stat a NPC to just have access the Greater Mark spells, the same as how Magewrights don't use PC spellcasting class rules anymore.
That’s...not good, though. A fighter PC shouldn’t have to take Spellcasting class levels to have a greater mark.

They don't need to, Eldritch Knight, Arcane trickster, Paladin, & ranger all gain spellcasting. The dragonmark races all get 1-2 spells they can cast 1/long rest too... not to mention dragonmark focus items. In a lot of ways, this works better than just giving them SLA alone ( they still have some Su/SLA/Ex Abilities too though)
Take a mark of sentinel EK, he's going to have compelled duel, shield, of faith, warding bond, zone of truth, counterspell, protection from energy, death ward, & maybe guardian of faith as he levels... that's a very different feel than say... a mark of passage AT who cuold have expeditious retreat, jump, mistystep, pass without trace, blink, phantom steed, dimension door, freedom of movement, and maybe teleport circle

I think the Greater Dragonmark feats have been removed, since the "adding spells to class lists" allows dragonmarks to scale with level without spending an extra feat.

It does mean that dragonmarks are better for casters, and I think quite often particularly good for part-casters such as rangers and arcane tricksters.

Yes, I believe that you are right...and as such, this is pretty elegant.

🙄They shouldn’t have to take a Spellcasting class or subclass.

Since Wayfarer's Guide and Rising don't preclude each other, is there anything in the rule set that would contraindicate a dragonmarked fighter from taking the Greater Dragonmark feat?

Especially if they multiclass to get those higher level spell slots after a few levels of the base class (or go back & forth). Normally the idea of an EK/AT getting a spell like the 3rd-5th level spells (which I don't think are even available) would be an absurd stretch, but because because of how the dragonmark spells are justified in lore it feels like the "if you have a spellcasting or pact magic class feature, the spells of the mark of x feature are added to the spell list of your spellcasting class" should be errata'd to be exempt from this bit of the multiclassing thing "if you have more than one spellcasting class, this table might give you spell slots of a level that is higher than the spells you know or can prepare. " with houserule or an errata. That also solves some of the "shouldn't be forced to take a spellcasting class" complaints made by @doctorbadwolf & others I've seen since instead of being an EK, a denieth mark of sentinel human could take other paths than just sticking to one class like a few levels in a half or third caster class & half as many in a fll caster class

I'm curious about aberrant dragonmarks - are they a feat or a subrace? The podcast talks about them being available to any race, even warforged, but not all races have subraces - including warforged now.

The twelve standard Dragonmarks are specific Subraces, whereas the Aberrant Dragonmark is a Feat.
