Can the Wizard also use Rituals like Raise Dead? Can Clerics and Wizards use in principal the same rituals? Or must they be trained in the key skill, even if it says no check?

Thanks for help.

Wizards, clerics and any who trains in the Ritual Caster feat can use any ritual that they have mastered. The key skill controls two different things:
1) types of components used it the ritual
2) which skill to use for a possible skill check

As far as I have noticed no ritual involving a skill check will fail from a poor skill check roll, the skill checks tend to control the quality of the effect, granted a bad effect for a poor check on a cure disease ritual is death. So you don't need to be trained in that skill but if there is a check roll, it helps cause otherwise you might not be worth the material cost to you.

So what is the point of writing Key skill:Heal next to Raise Dead ritual? With your interpretation, you can perform it even without Heal skill, as no check is required... they could as well write Key skill:None.

Sou you can't just have one giant sack of reagents and pull out two handfuls, cast a magic mouth on a rock next to a dead body, use raise the dead on the body and have the rock laugh at him for dying. The raise dead(heal) requires mystic salves(500gp worth) and the magic mouth(arcana) needs Alchemical reageants(10gp). You need to plan ahead and think about which rituals and how many times you will cast them before you get back to a merchant.

The other reason (aside from determining reagents) for Key Skills on rituals is so that you know what Skill you need to use to make the check. 4E doesn't stop you from making a skill check just because you are not trained, being trained just gives you a +5 bonus, so you are able to get better results.

Also Residium should be your component of choice if the DM will allow access to it, as it works for all rituals. At high levels this is the main use for Magic Items you don't need anymore.

Check out remove disease, where the patient dies if you screw up.

Yeah, I kind of pointed that out.
