Roadway and Parking Lot Idiots!

Samuel Leming

First Post
I was out shopping tonight, and for the third time in just a little over a week I saw a luxury car parked diagonally taking up two parking spaces close to the entrance. :mad: Yep, sure enough, there was the little fish symbol on the back of the vehicle. Once, one of these morons had the gall to take up three spaces.

Of course I know why they do this. They want to reduce the chances of their precious vehicle being scratched. What they don’t realize is that by showing their arrogant sense of entitlement and tendency to take more than their share of common resources, they’re drawing the attention of the very people that will damage their car on purpose.

I drive a little red convertible(some people say I'm an idiot for doing that) and I don’t want it scratched either. I park a good distance out in the parking lot, in good light, away from the largest concentration of vehicles, in ONE parking slot. Not once has anyone scratched the car. I see other people doing the same as I. There’s plenty of room and safety if you’re just willing to walk a little farther and be polite.

I pretty sure it’s the same idiots that drive & talk on the cell phones and shift lanes without warning when the roads are slick. :eek: At least it’s the same kind of cars.

Argggh! :mad::mad::mad::mad:

I've never seen the type of car make much difference as far as stupid parking lot behavior. Even so, even if they're taking up ten spaces it doesn't give anyone cause or right to damage their car for it. And pay attention to what Rel said.

Exactly. I've seen beaters and hoopties festooned with rainbow stickers & dancing neon bears parked just as arrogantly.

Idiots come in all sizes, colors and flavors.

A long time ago a girl at one of the odd jobs I worked at in the high school era would park her "precious" car across two spots. So one day a buddy and I get back from lunch and park in either side of her, so close there was literally no way she would be opening either her driver's or passenger side door. She was pretty fired up!

I don't own a car, but this does mange to get on my nerves too. Being that the parker is breaking the law, I jot down the license plate and alert security to the problem. :]

Around here it's all big SUV's and Pick UP Trucks.

I'm still not sure whether the predominant factor is an inability to park the huge monsters or just a general disregard for people.

Seeing the people driving these behemoths doesn't help, as they seem both personally inconsiderate & driving incompetent (around 70% of the time anyway).
