Robot Chicken, guest starring Mark Hamill

Ah, the joy of parodies. It's a great concept for a show to have 10-second to 3 minute spoofs of pop culture. But we live in a weird society. We can use the names and locations of movies and characters for parody's sake, but we can't actually use a song that's decades old, like the Benny Hill theme.

Oh well. It was some fun stuff. *grin*

no one said the laws made sense...but still, funny show. Robot Chicken has me laugh longer and harder then the rest of TV's siotcoms put together.

Been getting a kick out of it.

As far as music goes they really should change the cords (is that the term) is sounds like a bad recording of the original music (they may have changed the law to prevent this).

Robot Chicken has not failed to make me laugh.

I did notice the substituted music on the Benny Hill skit. Oh well, still funny.

Is "Robot Chicken" what I was watching last night when I channel flipped and saw odd 'Peanuts' show where Charlie Brown fed the Great Pumpkin to the Kite-eating Tree...and then everyone was in Hell dancing a la the 'Peanuts Christmas Special'?

I was laughing, but sad that I had missed the setup.

Yep, that was it.

I thought this episode was pretty good. The series started strong, but the following two episodes were a letdown for me. I guess that's to be expected considering the shotgun style approach to humor. More good than bad (Teen Titans sketch) this week.

BTW, it's a shame you missed the Empire Strikes Back sketch. Vader ran down all the Star Wars plot twist. I laughed out loud at, "As a child, I built C-3PO" and Luke's reaction.

As to the Benny Hill music. I guess someone still owns the rights to it. I thought it might be public domain since it turned up in a vidoe game (Leisure Suit Larry as part of the streaking mini-game).

Oh well, you have to pay to use the Happy Birthday song, so I shouldn't be surprised.

The setup:

Linus (the blanket kid, I think he's Linus) decides he will FINALLY get to see the Great Pumpkin, by performing a ritual inside a pentagram and sacrificing an animal.
The Great Pumpkin rips him apart, the cops show up, they bury him, and the GP starts hunting the rest. CB only escapes by luring him to the Kite Eating Tree.

It was hilarious.
