Rogue - Sneak Attack Feats Question

Thorwan

First Post
Just a quick one: I just started playing a Rogue 5/Invisible Blade 5 and stumbled upon all of those nice "reduce the Sneak Attack dice by Xd6 to" feats like Arterial Strike, Painful Strike etc.

Would it be possible to use multiple of those feats during the same Sneak Attack? Lets say I got +6d6 Sneak Attack, would it be possible to just deal 2d6 regulary, removing 2d6 for Painful Strike, 1d6 for Arterial Strike and another 1d6 for Bleeding Wound (Hidden Blade class ability) for example?

Thanks in advance,

Sven

I don't see why not.
The limits are inherent in the system: you can't add any more effects when you run out of damage dice.

One additional limit could be said to be in place: some of these feats, while 'eating' 2d6 dmg, require 5d6 SA dmg (from the top of my head, so not an exact example)
It could be argued that you can not apply said feat after having reduced your SA dmg below that 5d6, since you no longer fulfill the requirement

I think it's fine. Like Herzog said, you're paying for each of the effects on that sneak attack. And I disagree with his possible reason for not allowing it. You need Xd6 SA from Rogue to qualify for the feat. But when you're reducing your SA by a few dice for one of the feats, you still have a sneak attack of Xd6, you still qualify for the other feats. There's a difference between reducing your SA damage and actually having a lower SA dice pool, in my opinion.

Short answer: yes, it's fine.

I have a question myself, which I am pretty sure I know the answer to.

Sudden Strike qualifies for the Sneak Attack feats, of that I'm pretty sure.

Can one 'use' SS dice to use ambush feats? I know I read somewhere about skirmish counting towards qualifying for the feat, but couldn't actually be used for the feats(though I think that was with the "Swift Outlaw" feat, so may not be relevant)

Just want to be crystal clear on that so I don't plan my ninja-based character around feats I won't be able to use.

Yes, SS is basically completely interchangeable with SA for Ambush feats. Skirmish, however, is not. Even with the swift ambusher feat for rogue/scouts, it says you can use skirmish dice to help qualify for ambush feats, but cannot sacrifice skirmish damage to use them.
