8 Factotum / 8 Warblade

Beat me to it, damn.

How about Factotum 8 // Wizard 5/Unseen Seer 3 ? If you really want to sneak attack, use Hunter's Eye or whatever is the spell granting sneak attack dice, and go to town. Otherwise, be an awesome Wizard with extra standard actions.

Party voted me, because I was late, to be party rogue build. This means that rogue or "like" class must be 8 levels other than that build as I wish. So your build would not be possible.

I am not that familiar with Gestalt builds but .... what kind of capabilities are you required to have as "the rogue" for the party?

It seems that there already are 2 PCs with Trapfinding class feature. And that 5 Rogue / 3 Paragon -6 Warlock / 2 Assassin will easily be the best reconnaissance with the combination of Rogue skills and Walk Unseen invocation. There is a high CHA social type PC, too.

gestalt is 8 levels of character but 2 sides at once, basically its free multiclassing, raising in 2 classes per level up to 8th level - were starting campiagn off at his level. - I could go with scout? ninja? instead of rogue

is it just me or is the trap finding ability of the rogue the worst mechanic of all time? C'mon already, a +1? to find traps that start at DC20 oh yah sign me up! Constantly stick my neck out and then share all the goodies & experience pts with the party?

Actually, the Factotum is a rogue-ish class, only good at it. Blows straight Rogue out of the water in every regard. Gets lots of skillpoints, ALL skills as class skills, trapfinding, and actual class features on top of that. Good ones.

Amen to that. I was trying to help, OP. Factotum / Warblade also has synergy in the use of Int.

Factotum, where to find, what book?

much appreciated dont confuse my ignorance with rudeness, please. I thought Factotum was a Wiki spell casting class to tell you the truth.

Dungeonscape. Here is a primer. Here is a great feat.
I am sad that I've joined this conversation too late.

Factotum is a better Rogue than a Rogue. For all the reasons people have said.

The only thing I could add is to make a better Rogue than a Straight Factotum would be to be a Factotum//Wizard.

Crap, @Empirate already said that.

Then, I simply concur with these brilliant individuals.
