I thought that characters of the wrong class can use spell scrolls by making an Arcana check. Has that changed?

Yeah the Basic rules DM section was updated, and now you have to have the spell on your spell list to even try the arcana check, it is automatic if you have spell slots high of high enough level to cast it.

That's unfortunate. I liked it when people could attempt to use scrolls with Arcana checks. It made Int a bit less of a dump stat.
